Today was a good day, Today Fairway Market in Red Hook, Brooklyn opened. It is huge, it is beautiful, It's right on the water, and it's IN BROOKLYN!!! YES!!! BROOKLYN!!! Being a girl coming from Ohio, the land of the beautiful West Side Market, a big grocery store gives me the biggest RUSH. I went hog wild filling my cart with organic olive oil, hummus, seaweed salad, TONS of organic produce, and yummy yummy pasta sauces. (Yes, that was organic too! In fact, so was my 87% cocoa dark chocolate!) They have a lovely cafe overlooking the water, and plenty of helpful workers. I have definitely found my new grocery store of choice.
Ahh sweet aisle of grains....
Today I also went to the Bouley Bakery to satisfy a serious bread craving....It was buttery, delicious. I could literally feel the cellulite forming on my thighs. (Portion control is key here people!)
Can't you just taste the fat?
Seven WHOLE grains!!
The bread has a delicious crust and a great chewy texture, I definitely get this particular bread alot!
This afternoon Tim wanted chocolate, so we headed to The Cocoa Bar on 7th Ave in Park Slope for some delicious chocolate pistachio brittle cake. The cake was a rich but fluffy confection with a gooey ganache and chewy pistachio brittle in between the layers.
gooey, gooey, goodness.
Also did some excellent shopping at the Community Bookstore and Target. Soo much to do, soo little time. For dinner I think I am going to have to detox with just raw fruits and vegetables. Need.More.Water.
