Where have I been? I have been on vacation. After a long trip back to the midwest, that included a mennonite wedding, meeting the brother's girlfriend, (She is very nice and also quite striking) Before we left however, we went to Rissoteria for a wonderful, relaxing evening of celiac safe eats. I literally almost broke down in tears when I realized all that I could eat. It was almost too much for me. I was overwhelmed at the choices, both traditional for my husband and gluten-free for me. I also got a new tattoo. (Making it ever more apparent how much my old one needs a good pimping.) First with the dinner.
Those are gluten-free breadsticks. I could have been knocked over with a feather. They were chewy and delicious. Those olives? HOT HOT HOT! Wowwwwweeeee were they spicy! But they were tasty and endorphine runnning. By the way, those breadsticks are BOTTOMLESS. They keep bringing them out.
I had the gluten-free zucchini, pesto, fresh mozzarella, and roasted tomato pizza. I am not going to lie, the crust is different than traditional wheat crust pies, but it's an awesome gf pie. Maybe even Rosie and Elisabeth could agree on this one. (But I doubt it. One admits to being a compulsive eater and the other is preggo, maybe food would have been the solution, peace by cookies) "All we are saying is give peas a chance"
This doesn't look as good as it tastes. It's Tim's seafood rissoto. It was his dream dish. Shrimp, rice, fat, and CHEESE. He didn't come up for air. In fact, I think he still might be at the bottom of the bowl.....let me go check......yup, still there. I think he saw the green faerie......
We opted to take home a frozen gf pie to cook ourselves at home. Piping hot and out of the oven it was like heaven. (or Nevaeh if you want a trendy child name....blech) It had raisins in it. I love an apple pie with raisins, even if my husband does think they look like rat droppings amidst your apple goodness. (Ask if he stopped eating the pie...no he didn't) I think I may go to Rissoteria again this evening.....I want to try the panini.
That is a part of my new tattoo. It also has the reference of
Song of Songs 2:16
The flutterby will be pimped.
